Sorry, I got shocked, long, wrong dates. Naming of the new Western High School. [00:06:05] Good evening and welcome to the first public hearing on the naming of the new high school in Western Fairfax County. On behalf of the school board, I would like to thank you for sharing your comments with us. Today's hearing is being broadcast on Channel 99 and live stream on YouTube and our website at fcps.edu forward slash live stream. [00:06:27] In order to address the growing educational needs in the western part of the county, the school board recently acquired a property for a new high school in western Fairfax. The expansive 32.7 acre site features 355,000 square feet of modern learning spaces, including large multipurpose halls, libraries, fine arts facilities and athletic areas. [00:06:52] We are amid the process of determining the school's academic programming, which the board will vote on at our regular meeting tonight and a new name, the purpose of tonight's hearing. If you are not able to attend tonight's public hearing, but are interested in providing comments on the naming of the new Western High School, you may contact the board by sending your comments to community participation at FCPS.edu. We have no pre-registered speakers who will address the board at this public hearing. If you have not registered to speak but would [00:07:28] like to address the board, please see the clerk or the deputy clerk to sign up for one of the five reserved walk-in speaker slot. Please note that those individuals will speak after all pre-registered speakers. Speakers are allotted two minutes and we ask you stay within the time limit. The timer will start when you begin to speak and the timer will sound after two minutes please ensure that your remarks are limited to the naming of the new Western High School and that your remark adhere to the school board's expectations for a community participation included in those expectations are those one person is allowed on at the podium and speaking neither adult nor children may [00:08:07] accompany a speaker to the podium copies of all expectations are available at the back of the auditorium when your name is called the clerk will call your name three times before moving on to the next individual on the list you may find copies of the speaking order in the back of the room or the board docs if you have hard copy of you if you have a hard copy of a testimony please give it to clerks before you head to the podium if you're virtual please turn on your camera on when you are next in line to speak so that you just have to unmute when you are called to speak if you have electronic copies of a testimony and would like to share it with the board please email to community participation [00:08:45] fcps.edu.
