The next item on the agenda is a public hearing to solicit input on the recommended fiscal year 2025 annual financial plan. Mrs. Debbie Hargrave, budget director, will share some information before we proceed. [00:00:19] The floor is yours. - Thank you. Good evening, Madam Chair, school board members, and Dr. Cashwell. So the superintendent's budget was presented few weeks ago on january 25th and tonight we're holding our public hearing next slide oh do i run it i'm sorry okay you're good okay you're gonna do it thank you okay so our total budget um is in front of you our total funds most of our money obviously is in the general fund and our target [00:00:59] increase from the county manager was just about 27 million debt services also increasing we get those numbers from the county food services going up we are using up some of their fund balance and our state and federal grants are going down because ESSER funds are ending so overall we do have a 34.2 million dollar increase the general fund revenues you can look and see that actually all of the revenues are exactly the same as our current years adopted on this chart except for [00:01:33] the 26.9 million dollar increase. So that is our target increase from the county. And our general fund expenditures are pretty much similar to what they have been in the past with 75% being spent on instruction. The only other slice of the pie that really changed is our admin administration, attendance and health. And that increased because of our new department called safety and security. [00:02:05] And that budget is about $8 million, which is the increase from the prior year. Okay. And that is it. And do we have anyone to speak? Colleagues, are there any questions or feedback? [00:02:23] All right. We will move forward with our hearing. Citizens had an opportunity to sign up in advance with the school board clerk. Citizens present who wish to speak may do so. We ask that each speaker come to the microphone and clearly state your name and school affiliation if applicable. Speakers must present their remarks to the school board, not the audience, and may provide copies of their comments to the school board clerk. Once you have finished speaking, if you did not sign up in advance, we ask that you write your name and contact information [00:02:59] on the sign-in form located on the table in the back of the auditorium. The use of obscenity or defamation is strictly prohibited and will be ruled out of order.
