It is 4:03 and I'm calling to order this meeting of the Student Accountability and-- I'm sorry, the Student Behavior and Accountability Committee. [00:00:18] So first of all, has everyone signed up? We have no public comment tonight. Oh, well. Moving on, approval of minutes. [00:00:36] Has everyone had an opportunity to read the minutes from our last meeting? yes no yes any comments on that accept them not accept them accepted is that a motion I have a motion to accept the minutes a second thank you all in favor say aye aye all opposed and it's passed next on our list or action items we have [00:01:12] policy 8550 the parental notification concerning sect to sex offenders a review of public comments and there is the policy up there on the screen so that we can all see it to begin with I would like to state that this policy is in line with Virginia state regulations you can look it up it is called the oops [00:01:48] wrong page here just a second it is called the sex offender and crimes Against Minorities Registration Act Registry Act and you can look it up under the LIS or the Virginia legal information system online so all of our policies are in line with that concerning 84 50 I believe it is okay 80 85 [00:02:22] 50 that's it my apologies okay some of the comments specific they wanted to know the one line 27 28 the superintendent notifies the parent of each student enrolled in the school division of the availability of information in the registry and the location of the website okay parents are supposed to be notified annually this information is in the student handbook which the student and the parent signs at the beginning of every school year. [00:03:01] The information that the superintendent provides is the notification of the website at the state police or the sheriff's department where parents can go to look up and see if there are any sex offenders living in their neighborhood or anyone that they're concerned with. [00:03:23] We do not carry that website on any LCPS material, just information about where to find it. So I hope that clarifies what this question or comment is saying. [00:03:40] Another one that we had was whether we employ people that are on this list. No. If they are on this list, they are not employed by Loudoun County. Okay. [00:03:58] This does not cover things like text messages, social media, et cetera, et cetera. It is strictly people that have gone through the court system and have been found guilty of sex offenses. [00:04:17] Okay. Let's see. What else do we have on here, ladies? You want to help? Yes, it does apply to juveniles and adults alike. [00:04:32] That was another question we had. Under line three on our red copy, red line copy. I don't see a line three. The term hate speech? [00:04:49] That's a different form. Oh, that's the other form. Okay, good. All right. It says, why would the superintendent get to decide what is accessible to the parents? Get your button, microphone. [00:05:08] There's a question from public comment. Why would the superintendent get to decide what is accessible to the parents when this directly impacts their children? where they go, where they play in regions of concern. And I think Mrs. LaBelle has clarified from the LIS that the listing is with the Virginia State Police and with the Sheriff's Department, so the superintendent doesn't decide. [00:05:36] The superintendent simply gives the parent in the handbook where they can go to find the list. Is that correct? Exactly. Any other questions we need to address here? I'm if I may chair there was some question on from red line 23 to 25 I'm just trying to find that on this so it said that that the superintendent establishes the procedures regarding the use and distribution of information from [00:06:10] registry for a couple of reasons but it had stated that I only listed one reason in the red line from 23 to 25 and I think you had clarified that with let me go back to the actual statement the line 23 yeah I'm going to go back over to the sex offender on the LIS it says that the purpose of sex offender and crimes against minorities registry shall be to assist the efforts of law enforcement [00:06:46] agencies and others to protect their community and families from repeat offenders and to protect children from becoming victims of criminal offenders by helping to prevent such individuals from being allowed to work directly with children. Once again, that is why we do not employ them here in Loudoun County Public Schools. You're welcome. Anything else we need to address from this? [00:07:14] Related to line 2324, it says for reasons to include but not limited to avoiding information from the registry being used to intimidate or harass. And the question was, why is that the only exception listed? [00:07:36] Okay, I'm looking it up. I know it's in here. I saw it, and this is a very long answer on the LIS. There could be other reasons. There could be people that want to expose them for whatever reason their personal agenda is, and that becomes an issue with these people's rights. [00:08:06] Okay. I'm still looking. That would become an issue of intimidation or harassment of that person. Exactly. Yeah. Okay. Okay. So it's on the LIS. All right. They have to establish proof of registry. [00:08:22] They have to register every time they move. They have to register not only with the state police, but with the law enforcement agency following change of name or any change of residence within this commonwealth or outside of the commonwealth. [00:08:39] Okay, so all of this and the other reasons are in line with the LIS, what is it called again, Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minorities Registry Act. [00:09:01] And it is very, very specific as to who does what and how parents are notified, what and who shall control this notification, where parents can find information. [00:09:18] All of this is covered through the LIS. So I think that kind of covers everything I see in the questions. Do you? I just have one more question. And apologies if you already covered it. the first part it says with the MCAAC they have to we have to refer to the attached document they're saying that from line 27 to 28 in the red the red font that there's no time frame listed in that final paragraph it's saying the recommendation was to at least add some sort of time frame which they recommended annually so it's kind of open from line 27 to 28 so we could we just add to that [00:09:57] sentence annually we can I wanted to like hear your superintendent notifies annually the parent because he does through the handbook so can we just add the word annually getting in the school year when the handbook is signed well you can say you don't have to say at the beginning of the school year because I was students don't enroll at the beginning of this just leave it open to say he does it annually annually okay the other thing that we need to take into consideration is that this is an evolving registry that's people may be [00:10:34] on there now that weren't on there before or people may be dropped off of this yeah if they you know finish their sentence but still need to be recorded it's an evolving document and needs to be updated and so parents need to make the effort to keep up with it that's not something we're not going to tell them Oh a change has been made today and then a week later another change has been made. No, you are responsible If it's a worry to you and you want to find out about this [00:11:10] Then you are responsible for going to the website at the sheriff's department or with the state police and Monitoring it we will not be doing that at the school Chair, maybe we can add a line that says if we say annually we can keep it maybe add another sentence it says but this is at the discretion or some some sentence that kind of keeps it open to saying it's kind of the parents responsibility to kind of find out or take initiative to find out that detail just don't know how to word it well I think too to talk [00:11:49] to dr. Dean's point students can enroll in the middle of the year so those students would be informed of this when they get their student handbook the rest of the students would resign annually and so that would be when we are notifying them annually and then new students as they come into the system will also be given this information I think we need to put that in there okay it is incumbent upon the parents to monitor this for themselves as there are [00:12:29] frequent additions and deletions to this list and updates it is not the responsibility of the school to inform parents when updates are made as they are frequent how's that for you work for you yes okay any other discussion on 85 50 no yes we're good to go shall we move on to what is the [00:13:07] next one excuse me we need to make a motion regarding what you want to do next with that policy whether or not you want it for example to move to the full board for a vote oh but before we do that I want to make sure that we can capture what you discussed and I'm gonna ask Miss Gettleman for every adjustment that has been suggested do we need a motion and a vote on those adjustments or do we just need to capture them to the satisfaction of the [00:13:43] committee if we capture them the committee can make a motion to the kind of to say I move to approve the discussed amendments and forward and yeah or as corrected which way would you would like amended or corrected I'd say amended I think they're more amendment amendments to policy if I move oh [00:14:20] somebody's got to move who's gonna move I make the motion to add make the additions to the red line policy as discussed I second all in favor of the motion aye all opposed so moved if you will go ahead and make those Corrections and then we can move forward with this yes no okay yes we will go [00:14:58] ahead we will make those additions and we will bring them back next time for your review to make sure that we've accurately captured them but thank you very much questions questions so it won't go to the full board yet until we see them and approve them in the committee and approve and approve what we've what we've suggested okay and I feel good that we we actually took the time to look at the concerns people have and make sure that we had it correct [00:15:35] okay next policy is 8273 student speech and expression there are a number of [00:16:08] comments that we need to look at let me bring this up on my page okay the first [00:16:41] question we had was about lines 10 and 11 students have the right to freedom of speech bold-faced during non instructional times and outside of the classroom or other areas where instruction is occurring they feel the sentence is not clear about what environments where free speech is [00:17:06] protected and not protected any thoughts about this public comment we have someone interested in public comment or is it okay any comments about that part [00:17:37] if I may chair so far so in lines 10 to 11 I do understand the concern which is outside of classrooms or other areas where instruction is correct it's a little vague you know so I think the comment especially where MSAC had mentioned MC MSAAC had mentioned that it's just not clear where this [00:18:14] instructional time is so I think we should add some clarity to or defining where instruction time could be maybe I think we could clarify it in classrooms as part of classroom discussions also as written responses to and this is just off the top of my head and so if you want to say something else that's fine [00:18:49] but written responses to essay questions or student projects in other words it has to be pertinent inside the classroom to the material that is being gone over in the classroom does that make sense yes and we can also add if I may the classroom could be defined as even when you're in gym activities or you know well if it's first pertinent to PE yeah but if you're in let's say [00:19:22] language arts and they want you to write an essay that's about the political background of the time of Romeo and Juliet I mean just isn't enough the top of you know why it was the way it was that might be appropriate it's not just in in classes that have to do with history civics things like that I think lunchtime also is where that's not a classroom okay so we'll keep that out of that one. That one does not need clarification because that isn't a class. We're talking about [00:20:02] instructional classes. Anything you'd like to say, Dr. Dean? Based on the recent emails that we've received from parents about hate speech, it is during recess, it is during lunch, it is at all times during the instructional day or during the school day. So I think if we only say in classrooms, we are allowing it at other times. [00:20:35] So I think we've got to be comprehensive in indicating that this speech is forbidden at any time that the student is under the auspices of, I don't know the word. [00:20:53] Auspices works. Some schools are 8 to 3. Some schools are 8 to 4. This goes on to say that they were mostly concerned about the right to freedom of speech during non-instructional times and outside of classrooms or other areas where instructions occurring so we've clarified where instruction is occurring we can clarify other locations where they have freedom of speech but it goes on to say that the freedom of expression does not extend to [00:21:32] So anything that would violate the school law or board policy is obscene, pornographic, or harmful to juveniles, is hate speech, defamatory, or causes personal humiliation to others, or leads to, or likely to lead to, substantial disruption or material interference with school activities, or an invasion of the rights of others. [00:21:58] So we've already covered the fact that none of this bullying is not acceptable anywhere in the classroom or other spaces within the school property. That is one of the things that is being very specific here. [00:22:15] So that part is more or less clear. And then it goes on under the comment to ask about student protest. I think we need to discuss student protests and student walkouts and things like that because I have some concerns about that, if I may, with your permission. [00:22:42] Yes, of course. Okay. Yes. Student walkouts have been happening more and more frequently. Students go outside the building. They may go out or not go out with administrative permission or authority. [00:23:03] They are pulling teachers, even if they do it during an activity period, let's say, off task, because we have to take teachers from wherever they happen to be to make sure that the student's safety outside the building is ensured. [00:23:21] Then we have the problem of students going out of the building. we don't know who they are or how many they're not signing out then when they do finally come back in are they all coming back in or have some of them wandered off someplace else that we can't account for so my feeling about student walkouts and protests that go outside of the building should not be permitted for the reasons of safety I think that we can substitute other [00:23:55] opportunities for students to express themselves within the building safely is there discussion about this how do we all feel about this this is a problem of safety more than anything in the policy the second sentence say such freedom of speech includes not only oral communications but other expressive [00:24:27] conduct by students such as publications there could we add such as publications comma walkouts comma I mean could we not include something at the end of that sentence to include is that going to make them safe when they go out the door would be my question well we're restricting them from going out the door by indicating that that is one of the examples of student expression that is [00:24:58] unacceptable but other expressive it includes not only oral communications but other expressive conducts okay but it does not include or expressive conduct that it would have to be like number five on this one and I can see saying that if you want to hold an assembly and a debate to express yourself and your feelings I can see that is perfectly acceptable but to be outside the [00:25:33] building pulling others the staff particularly out there to make sure that they are safe and not wandering off which some maybe you want to do we need to worry about that so if they want to have and I much rather call it a rally than a walkout if we're holding it inside the building if they want to hold a rally or if they want to have a debate they could meet in the auditorium they could meet in the uh not the gymnasium because that's being used most of the time during activity [00:26:10] periods but possibly one of the courtyards the enclosed courtyards of the school with administrative permission those are all acceptable ways of expressing freedom of what they want to say in their thoughts but just to walk out half the time nobody knows why they're walking out the kids just follow along are there any other feelings or thoughts that is an expressive conduct [00:26:46] by students so if you list it in those that are that are restricted or required even you you could simply add a sentence saying other expressive conduct by students such as publications comma student assembly and then you might define student assembly but that would take care of the fact that you were saying that they cannot walk out okay does that seem [00:27:21] reasonable to everyone okay well let's go ahead and and add something to this one to that effect that makes it clear what what we will look at uh what else is on there they're upset about substantial disruption material interference and invasion of the rights of others that's very subjective so [00:27:52] let's see if we can clear that one up a little I would say that pulling pulling teachers off tasks to monitor and control anything that is inadmissible is a substantial disruption that's just for starters and if it happens during an [00:28:28] activity period that interrupts other students participating in activities or happens during instructional time that could be material interference so then [00:29:02] we would need I'm sorry sorry we're all friends here so would we need to add something to the effect I think you said it Ms. LaBelle administrative approval of student assembly and/or student rallies if we choose to call them that I i think that's a positive term instead of protest yeah and it will help correct behavior or indicate [00:29:31] the kind of behavior we expect that would that would be better and if we had administrative approval of student assembly or rally then it would not be invasive of disruption substantial disruption right yeah or material interference right with student activities because he would schedule the time right I like that networks if we can also add some sort of is there a way to add some sort of involvement from I know you said [00:30:10] administrative so are you saying that's that would be the umbrella for any type of counselor involvement like the guidance counselor yes something like that would that would that be in that verbiage administrative approval or the administrator's designee would the counselor be his designee to give approval and he would have to give assignment for supervision in other words if you're gonna hold a rally I'm yeah a rally in the enclosed garden [00:30:45] courtyard we need teachers to be there to ensure student order and safety and he would appoint people to be there so it would have to be with his improved approval, and appointment of faculty monitors for the event. [00:31:06] Does that work? So we would add that number five that you were referencing? Yeah, that would be a good place to put that. I think that walkouts just put us too much at risk with student. [00:31:26] Dr. Rasheed, help me to word number five to include all of what we've said so much. Yeah. But I feel like we're making headway this way. I do. That one, two, three, four, five are things that. [00:31:57] I thought those were items. Those are. Items that would. Negative, right? Negative items. Or student. It wouldn't be number five. It would have to come in this first paragraph. Publications, comma, like one of those. Right, right. Publications, comma, administrative approved student assembly rally, comma, with assignment of. [00:32:27] With assignment of. A staff supervision? Yes. You've got to make this into a motion, you know. Yeah. I had a lot of stuff written down here, so I'd love to see them do a student debate. [00:32:53] Add student debate. Add a student debate to assemblies. Assembly, rally, debate. And student debates. I'd love to see them do that. That's a really good life skill. This captures what we said. Go for it. [00:33:09] Such freedom of speech includes not only oral communications, but other expressive conduct by students, such as publications, administrative approved student assembly, rally, debate, with assignment of staff supervision. [00:33:40] What did they leave out? That's it. For a second. Mm-hmm. Now, the other thing they wanted to talk about was the invasion of rights of others. I think that would be obvious, but I never know anymore. [00:34:00] You might say, I'm sorry. Go for it. I'm thinking and talking out loud. I'm sorry. I apologize. That's all right. You know what? I like this format. Robert can go hang his hat somewhere else. [00:34:19] on invasion of the rights of others as determined by the school administration. That's putting a lot because school administrations, as we've seen in the past, may differ from school to school. [00:34:37] Like the one time they were talking about you can't wear T-shirts with certain things on them, and then they were saying another school was saying you can't even wear the colors of that flag. You know, that's not consistent. So anything we put out, I feel, needs to be easily determined and recognizable and consistent between schools. [00:35:00] But I think to make it consistent, that would have to come from the administration enforcing it consistently versus us trying to put it all into words in the policy. We would send it to Ms. Mitchell to make it consistent. I'm being facetious, but I'm just saying that I don't think we can determine that every principal is going to do it the same way because every building has a different tone, a different climate, a different, yeah. [00:35:37] So, so, so... Can we include a statement that you just said, that part, as part of that statement, saying, however, this is... According to... According to different school policies, something like that along those lines. [00:35:53] Well, not policy, because this is the policy, so procedure. Sorry, right. Or something, but... Correct. okay miss Mitchell okay there we go so we have rough traps SOPs of standard operating procedures regarding student demonstrations so to change this policy and add language in there would then guide us on how to make adjustments to those SOPs so that principals have those documents to guide them so what it does [00:36:33] is it will set some parameters around the student demonstrations for example they cannot have them during instructional time so some of the other things that I heard you speaking about policy will definitely drive what the principals do so again we will just go back and make some changes to those SOPs or if it's covered and we finalize this policy we may not even need the SOPs if this policy is going to include student demonstrations which would also be [00:37:07] considered walkouts rallies anytime students are leaving a setting to gather together for a common purpose and then we have other things in terms of not being able to use signage being respectful and there are some other norms of practice and that but the policy will definitely set the parameters of what the schools can and cannot allow and every school will will follow the guidelines set within that policy now schools might offer that to be right before school or right after school or again during non-instructional [00:37:45] time so those things might vary but there are definitely some things that are common such as they have to have supervision they have to go to a space that is deemed safe from public and out of harm's way so that's definitely a consideration if they have to leave the building and go outside versus being able to stay inside in the auditorium so a lot of buildings have a courtyard that is in the the classrooms are built around it I don't know if you've been in any of those schools okay and that's what I mean when I say enclosed [00:38:24] courtyards they can't go anywhere but in the courtyard but I think being in the courtyard would draw other students attention so I still say it needs to have something on it as approved by the administrator yes and our administrators have designated a space again from school to school based on the layout based on where they can go you know high schools might be able to go to use the stadium versus elementary schools might have a different space so [00:39:00] those spaces are designated by school admin so that they know where to direct students should they choose to have a demonstration and where staff will watch them during that time so she so she might it good be good to add when we say administrative approved student assembly rally can't remember right debate as a And demonstration, should we stay away from the word demonstration so as not to invite them to, I don't know. [00:39:38] I don't think demonstration is a very good word. I think that indicates the expectation of loud, what is that called, argumentative behavior. [00:39:57] We have student assembly, rally, debate, hyphen, I mean, you know, with the slash behind each one. Might another word be added there to satisfy the students' needs? I think those are all inclusive. [00:40:17] We had talked about the word rally as Ms. LaBelle had brought it up. And one of the talking points was to go toward demonstrations so as to not get it confused with something like a pep rally, which has a different cause for when students come together. [00:40:33] And sometimes getting into the granular walkout, you know, sometimes they're not walking literally out, but it's typically we have asked students to speak to administrators beforehand to get permission so this isn't something where they're just getting up and all of a sudden walking out without anyone knowing because, like I said, they have to have administrative coverage along with maybe teacher coverage depending on how many students are gathering. [00:41:02] Right. What about, how do people feel about the word protests? Mm-mm. No? I mean, I don't know. Same reason as we wouldn't say a demonstration, correct? So this gives them enough room to be able to express themselves, possibly come to agreements on things if they debate, at least inform others of their points of view which is basically what the [00:41:36] freedom of speech is all about I'm sorry miss Mitchell while you're there will you listen to this and see if it's if it gives enough parameters is that the word yeah okay students have the right to freedom of speech during non instructional times and outside of classrooms or other areas where [00:42:10] instruction is occurring such freedom of speech includes not only oral communications but other expressive conduct by students comma such as publications administrative approved student assembly slash rally slash debate with us with the assignment of staff supervision that's a long sentence [00:42:44] and it's okay um so yes we can again if that information is going to be included then we may not need the SOPs because the SOPs were strictly for student demonstrations so it sounds like and there were not tight parameters so it sounds like this would definitely govern when students come together and unless there's something that we have to change for legalities and we're incorporating the feedback from public and the board or this committee rather [00:43:24] we should be able to make those amendments I think like we said some schools have some don't but they have things like that and again it would be up to the administration to identify those locations where the and some lend them things to one type of activity some to another so let's leave it to the administration to identify those places and assign the location appropriate to [00:44:00] each of the activities I think that's that's probably the best way to handle Yes, because as I was saying, not every school has the same landscape or the same places that they can go, especially if students want to have a demonstration, walkout, rally outside of the school building. So that would definitely need to have some principal autonomy and able to do that, even inside of the building, because again, spaces not all schools have, for example, an auditorium that could accommodate students and given the time that they may want to have the demonstration there may be a class that's using the [00:44:40] auditorium so there definitely needs to be some room for principals to make accommodations as necessary question for you miss Mitchell would this cover freedom of speech to gather for midday prayers early morning prayers because a lot of our students do feel the need to pray well is this the place where that would go in or is that a different place we have different guidance for that where our students are able to have places to pray along with some [00:45:18] guidelines that have been established by our DEIA department so principals do have that okay thank you I just wanted to know how far we had to take this now so this is good yeah why don't you go ahead and make a motion you don't have to read it all again ladies am I ready to make a motion okay then I make a move that we can add to this first paragraph of this policy the statement that I [00:45:52] just made I do believe we have it written down as you repeated it but I will read it one more time just to be sure picking up on the line where it has such as publications it will go on to say such as publications administratively approved student assembly slash rally slash debate with the assignment of staff supervision second to that motion my second all in [00:46:26] favor the motion say aye opposed motion adopted okay My only question is with, and I know we've already settled it, but with policy 8550, I know you said that it was places of instruction. [00:46:54] So does that also include, and I'm assuming it does, the buses? Because we had some constituents that have reached out that have said that a lot of them that have said a lot of instances have occurred with the students riding home. that there's just been a lot of unfortunate instances of the of that type of negativity that they're the kids so it's the buses and it's always recess it's interesting it's never in the industry I shouldn't say never but a lot of the times it's not in the instructional area I guess because it's being supervised more so we could say instructional area and this could also [00:47:32] occur actually if they were at a football game or something like that or or any Loudoun County sponsored or on any Loudoun County property. That would include football stadiums and buses, including stadiums, sports fields, and buses. [00:47:53] Can we add that? Or do we need to make another motion to amend it? I believe you would need to make another motion to amend it. I would just point out that that first sentence is already somewhat broad and may already do what you're intending that the addition would do students have the right to freedom of speech during non instructional time and outside of classrooms which would include the football game the school bus wait each [00:48:28] of which are non instructional times outside of classrooms so the concern was that there was a lot of negative instances that I were occurring occurring in the LCPS school buses for example it's the opposite of what you're saying yeah 8550 so for the previous policy I just want to make sure we're on the same page that it's not I was discussing not 8273 but 8550 I'm a little confused so [00:49:05] are you not talking about the one related to student speech I am 8550 I'm sorry eight to seven you know it's that end of the day thing my apologies eight two seven three eight two seven three yes so if I understood you correctly what you want to do is ensure that this policy clearly extends to times when speech the prohibited speech which is listed in one through four there were [00:49:40] also saying that that is prohibited on the school bus at the football game etc that's correct because when we were discussing I just thought in my head I was like I forgot about the the automobiles like the buses is something that I thought about yes words to make it specific it's not just instructional time but any activities that are being held on Loudoun County properties that includes buses and sports fields it doesn't have to be I mean the negative part that would come on the bottom where we have the one through five and make it [00:50:17] clear down there that seems to me that would be the appropriate place to put it that no yes well down where we would have put item five but it needs to be made clear that we're not going to tolerate this if they're outside and playgrounds in elementary schools or on buses riding to or from school we need to make it perfectly clear that this is unacceptable behavior it's not freedom [00:50:50] of speech at that point okay so it becomes incumbent upon us to find the place to put it apologies for the wishy-washy advocate all right this right does not extend to include speech or other expressive conduct that advocates the Commission of a crime or a violation of school board policies or regulations such as speech or expressive conduct that would it would violate the law of [00:51:27] our school board policy and then it tells where you know what that is so we need to find a place up on top that says that maybe at an outside classrooms students have the right to freedom of speech during non instructional times and outside of classrooms or other areas where instruction is occurring such freedom of speech does not include taught well somewhere in there so the [00:52:07] issue this may be helpful to you the issue of prohibited student conduct which could include prohibited speech is also addressed in 82 10 which includes all of the acts for which students can be disciplined and that also contains this idea that students can be disciplined for any prohibited conduct that occurs on school property at a school sponsored activity and property includes the school bus it's can we add that at the bottom of this what you told me it [00:52:45] was but 82 10 putting notes something that says for further clarification of prohibited behaviors reference policy 82 10 let's do it that way and that way we wouldn't need a motion I don't think because it's already a policy and that just kind of makes them touch base just for clarification I didn't review 82 10 [00:53:21] right now but it I'm assuming you said buses are listed in that policy 82 10 which falls under LCPS property we're gonna have miss Gettleman pull it up but certainly in our policies acts for which students can be disciplined extends and it's written into policy to all LCPS property which of course would include [00:53:51] school buses policy 8-2-10 all right and then at the very end offenses any threat [00:54:32] to bomb burner damage Oh lovely 14 yeah yep a school building or other school property the property of another person that would that would cover it and it also addresses things that we're talking about with the policy 85 50 when they wanted us to clarify and also above when they wanted us to clarify what would be some of the other things like interrupting school activities and things [00:55:11] like that it's also here so this is a good thing yeah this is a good right so that clarifies anything else I think that would work do you recommend we make make a footnote you mentioned like a type of reference no a motion for it please okay I move we amend to this to yes that's what the policy 8210 have [00:55:44] this the statement that you had mentioned which is what she said which I believe which I captured as but feel free to revise for further reference to prohibited student contact refer to policy 80 to 10 perfect so you I motion that reference in the policy I said a second we have a motion on the floor to [00:56:19] amend policy to include reference to policy number 82 10 all in favor say aye I all opposed motion carried now okay yes back at the page we've got both of those done is there any new business all right well my I'm so sorry that's okay [00:56:58] might we put as new business a plan to examine the age limit age of majority age of majority yes yes so you would like to because we had so many emails about 18 year olds being able to sign themselves out of school and some parents are pushing it to the public that that 18 year old [00:57:34] could not sign himself or herself out of school, might in our new business for next meeting that we talk about the policies that involve the rights of 18-year-old students versus parental rights. [00:57:54] Do we need a motion for that too? It's new business. I don't think so. I'm making a note of this. And we'd like the policies that we follow related to 18-year-olds so that we can examine them mm-hmm so what I'm hearing is that we would like to add for the next discussion policy 8025 rights of adult eligible students that's correct 8025 [00:58:33] mm-hmm any other new business is there a move to adjourn I move to adjourn I I second. [00:58:51] The motion's been moved and seconded. All in favor? Aye. Aye. All opposed? Nay. No, say nay. No, I have a funeral to get to. Aye. I'm sorry. Motion approved. Aye. [00:59:07] Don't have me to say things I shouldn't say. This is about entertainment for the day. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Coraggio Consulting ยท aguyonx.com
