I'm calling this meeting of the Student Behavior Accessibility Committee to order. This meeting is to hear a student discipline appeal. My name is Carrie LaBelle and I'm chairing this meeting. With me are Dr. Linda Deans and Ms. Dina Griffiths, who is serving in place of Dr. Sumaira Rashid. [00:00:21] I would like now to call a motion for a motion to move into closed session. Is there a motion? So moved. Second, I move that the Leighton County School Accountability Committee of the Leighton County School Board, no, it's not recess, yes, recess this public meeting and enter into a closed meeting pursuant to section 2.2-3712 of the Code of Virginia for the following purposes, discussion or consideration of a recommendation for disciplining one or more students enrolled [00:00:56] in Loudoun County Public Schools as authorized by section 2.2-3711A2 of the Code of Virginia. It has already been moved and seconded. All those in favor say aye. [00:01:12] Aye. Aye. The committee approves this motion to be moved into closed session by a vote of 3-0. All right, I move that the following resolution certifying the closed meeting be adopted and reflected in the minutes of this public meeting. [00:01:31] I second. okay the motion has been seconded all in favor say aye aye anyone against say nay the committee approves the motion of a vote to certify the closed session by three to zero I move that the closed meeting be adjourned and that the Student Behavior and Accountability Committee of Latin County School Board reconvene its public meeting and that the minutes of the public meeting reflect [00:02:05] that no formal action was taken in the closed meeting is there a second second the motion has been seconded all in favor say aye aye anyone against say nay the committee approves the motion to adjourn the closed session by a vote of three to zero so we are now in public session again yes regarding appeal case I move while the student is assigned to tape through I'm sorry I move to [00:02:44] modify the student disciplinary decision made by the hearing officer for student appeal case number osa 03-24-25 in the following way okay while he is assigned to tape through the remainder of the 24-25 school year his ability to return for the 25-26 school year is contingent on his behavior [00:03:14] and academic performance at TAPE and a review by OSA at the conclusion of the 24-25 school year. [00:03:49] Seeing no opposition the committee approves the motion to continue with the recommendation by Mr. Daniels along with our recommendation to modify the assignment to include a review contingent upon his performance and his behavior while at tape the committee approves the motion by a vote of three to zero.
